The hum of late-summer activity is back in Oak Ridge!

From above, baseball teams are out for their first practices of the season, and soccer goals are being moved into place. Parents chat at the fence lines, kids chase stray balls, and our parks feel alive with the promise of a new youth sports season on the horizon. The air is still warm, but the energy in our community is already shifting toward shared afternoons and spirited play.
🏞 Celebrating Our Spaces
Oak Ridge has invested in parks and athletic fields that are as welcoming as they are well‑maintained. These are places where neighbors connect, where young athletes learn the value of discipline and teamwork, and where the town’s energy is on full display.
🏃 Investing in Our Youth
Youth sports teach more than rules and plays — they build confidence, resilience, and the spirit of collaboration. Every practice is a step toward preparing the next generation to lead with the same values that define Oak Ridge today.
🤝 Strengthening Our Community
From coaches volunteering their time to families supporting players from the sidelines, it’s the people who make our programs thrive. These shared experiences create bonds that last well beyond the season.
🚀 Looking Forward
As our community grows, so must our commitment to maintaining and improving the spaces and programs that bring us together. I’m dedicated to ensuring Oak Ridge continues to support youth activities that keep our small‑town spirit strong.
This season, I invite you to cheer on a team, volunteer with a local league such as ORYA, or simply enjoy a day in the park — whether from the bleachers or, like me this week, from above.
