Why I'm Ready to Serve Oak Ridge—and Ready to Lead

Thursday, I spoke during public comments at the Oak Ridge Town Council meeting, sharing both my experience and my perspective on the issues that matter to residents.

In my first remarks, I focused on why I believe I’m a strong candidate for Town Council. I outlined my 20+ years of experience managing budgets, audits, and teams across nonprofits, municipalities, and dealing with Fortune 100 companies—and how that background translates into the kind of fiscal stewardship and long‑range planning Oak Ridge needs. This was my chance to explain, directly to residents, why I’m asking for their vote and how my record of service sets me apart.

Later in the evening, I returned to the podium to respond to earlier discussions. I spoke about the importance of security at our meetings and offered my willingness to provide consultation. I also emphasized the civility I feel among the candidates, while making clear that residents still deserve to understand the differences between us. Voters need to know who I am and how I stand apart from the other choices. I also addressed the conversation around taxes and the potential property value rate increase, because residents deserve clarity and honesty about how these decisions impact their families. Both parts of my comments reflect the same commitment: protecting Oak Ridge’s future, serving its people, and honoring the traditions that make this town home.

You can watch both sections of my remarks in the video below. I’d love to hear your thoughts and continue this dialogue with you.
