Why I’m Running: A Vision Rooted in Oak Ridge

I didn’t just choose Oak Ridge — I committed to it.

As someone who grew up in Greensboro, I’ve always appreciated the value of community. But when it came time to raise a family, I knew I wanted something more intentional — a place where tradition still matters, where neighbors wave from their porches, and where the pace of life allows for connection. Oak Ridge offered all of that and more. It’s a town with deep roots and a spirit that’s both welcoming and resilient.

That’s why I’m running for Oak Ridge Town Council.

I believe our town deserves leadership that honors its past while preparing for its future. That means smart growth that protects our character, transparent governance that earns trust, and a commitment to parks, trails, and programs that connect families and neighbors. It means asking not just what we can build — but what we should preserve.

My professional background as a Chief Technology Officer has taught me how to lead with vision, how to communicate clearly, and how to make decisions that balance innovation with stability. My service on the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board — including a year as co-chair — has deepened my understanding of what makes Oak Ridge special: our green spaces, our community events, and the way our town invests in quality of life.

This campaign isn’t about politics. It’s about stewardship.

I want to help guide Oak Ridge through the challenges and opportunities ahead — with a steady hand, a listening ear, and a clear sense of purpose. I want to ensure that our growth reflects our values, that our decisions are made with integrity, and that our future remains rooted in the things that make Oak Ridge feel like home.

This blog is a space for conversation. I’ll be sharing thoughts on policy, community priorities, and the questions I hear from residents. I hope you’ll follow along, share your ideas, and help shape the future of Oak Ridge together.

Thank you for being part of this journey.
